New Series book documents the Americans who studied at the École des Beaux-Arts
The ICAA is proud to announce the release on September 23 of Americans In Paris: Foundations of America’s Architectural Gilded Age / Architecture Students at the École Des Beaux-Arts 1846-1946, (Rizzoli International Publications, 2014) which is co-authored by Jean Paul Carlhian and Margot Ellis. As part of the “Classical America Series in Art and Architecture,” this extraordinary book is the most recent in a long list of titles supported first by Classical America and now by the ICAA. Richly illustrated, this oversize book presents for the first time a comprehensive overview of the work created by a century of Americans who studied at the École before going on to design and build many of our nation’s most important buildings and monuments. Stay tuned for a lecture in New York by author Margot Ellis upcoming in Spring 2015.
