Fall 2014 Continuing Education

This term the ICAA offers twelve courses in a variety of formats including: academic lectures, on-site study tours, and drawing courses to strengthen your manual skills, deepen your knowledge, and revive your passion and commitment to classical architectural design. Highlights include the following: Elizabeth Meredith Dowling, PhD, Georgia Tech Professor Emerita, will teach American Classicism: Education and Design of the Late 19th and 20th Centuries. This class will be offered over the course of two evening sessions, Wednesday, October 15, and Thursday, October 16, 2014, from 6:00-9:00PM.

Also on the calendar is a special lecture and master class taught by Andrew Zega and Bernd H. Dams, 2011 Arthur Ross Award Laureates for Fine Art and authors of, most recently, Central Park NYC: An Architectural View.

Mr. Zega and Mr. Dams will give an illustrated lecture at the General Society of Tradesmen and Mechanics Library on Thursday, October 23, 2014, 6:30PM reception and 7:00PM lecture, followed by an Architectural Watercolors Master Class on Saturday, October 25, 2014, from 10:00AM-4:00PM.

Fall 2014 also offers a series of courses in the Elements of Classical Architecture: Introduction to Classical Mouldings; Drawing the Tuscan Order; and Drawing the Doric Order.
